What is
Auto-Guide™

Auto-Guide™ is a Satellite Navigation System that uses Global Positioning System (GPS) based signals to provide hands-free, auto steering to farm equipment.

Auto-Guide uses sub-metre, decimetre and centimetre (USA only) accuracy to provide straight lines, while the operator is simply required to turn the machine at headlands.

Operators are consequently less fatigued and work more efficiently into the night, or in low visibility situations, with reduced skips and overlaps - resulting in increased efficiency and economic savings.

In addition, repeatability or “Controlled Traffic” eliminates guess rows and reduces widespread compaction, leading to environmental savings.

Auto-Guide features three main components:

  • Three GPS accuracy's...sub-meter, decimeter and centimeter…from five sources
  • Two Hardware packages...TopDock mounted on cab containing electronics and terminal mounted inside operators station to control
  • One Steering valve component integrated into the equipment

Auto-Guide Operation

The AUTO-GUIDE™ Satellite Navigation System is a steer-assist feature that automatically guides the agriculture vehicle along a path established by GPS (Global Positioning System). The system steers the vehicle electronically, so operator steering corrections are not required while the system is engaged. Auto-Guide is NOT a replacement for the operator, as there are many other interactions between the operator and surroundings.

The operator MUST remain seated in the vehicle at all times. The operator must be alert to conditions around them, and ready to take control of the vehicle immediately, if necessary.

Operating Auto-Guide is easy, first establishing the initial swath…

  • Engage Auto-Guide control switch on terminal, functions will appear
  • Take your hands off the wheel and steer hands-free with Auto-Guide
  • At the end of the run, place hands back on the wheel and operate vehicle, or turn vehicle around until it locks on to your next run

Auto-Guide System Summary

  • Automatic “hands-free” agriculture vehicle steering
